Recently, I have been pondering the 33 years Jesus walked on this same earth that I walk. In fact, I have been reading every account where Jesus ministered healing on the shores of Galilee. I am amazed at God’s willingness to become flesh and dwell among this fallen world those 2,000 years ago. As these things go through my mind I can’t help but think of His suffering and then His final triumph as He paid the price once and for all for our forgiveness, deliverance, healing, provision and protection. Just as the Savior of the world performed miracles, signs and wonders in ancient times, we know that He is still at work today. Do you need a miracle? Is there a mountain in your way that needs to move? Jesus came to give us victory over anything the enemy throws our way!
"What a mess!" my husband and I both kept saying again and again as we threw our hands in the air. We spent the entire day going through old boxes of things we had collected over the years. We had set aside several days to clean out closets and storage spaces. We found countless things we forgot we owned. Do you have some boxes like that—the ones where you sort of know what is in them, but then again, not really? Most of us have scores of them.
Everyone has a different preference when it comes to prayer and how he or she feels is the best way to connect with God. The important thing is that you don’t want your prayer life to become mundane and never grow or change. You want it to be fresh, exciting and even explosive in the Spirit. We all want our prayers to be effective, and anyone who is full of the Spirit has the anointing to pray powerful prayers that produce miracles.
We can pray in such a way that our prayers just flow. We don’t have to force them. They can even become prophetic—the heart of the Holy Spirit pouring out of our words and expressions.
