Prophetic Scripture:
Isaiah 35:4 - Say to them that are fearful of heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.
Have you ever wondered how most of us would have felt if we were truly walking in David's shoes and were walking out to meet Goliath? So many of us would have been like the rest of the crowd who were standing in the sidelines probably thinking that little David was going to get whipped! I have always wondered if there was ever a tiny little thought that ever tried to hit David's mind to make him have second thoughts as he marched out toward the giant. Perhaps not, but I am sure David, human like all of us, had to cast out some discouraging thoughts in his life. In fact, one time later in his life, after he experienced a terrible invasion by the Amalekites, David wept until he had no more strength to cry (1 Samual 30:4). Now that is some serious discouragement! Yet somewhere that same conquering spirit rose up in David once again. It was the same spirit he had when he killed Goliath. God wants you to carry that same spirit with you too! No matter what tries to get you down, the strength of God rises up inside you to overcome it! Believe for that everyday of your life, no matter what may come your way. When you do, God will defend you and pay the enemy back for whatever evil he tried to use against you.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you that I have a conquering spirit today. I make a choice to cast off the spirit of discouragement concerning ______________________. I embrace, this day, the spirit of power for the Lord is on my side. Help me see, Lord, a new perspective; and I know today that it is payback time against every spirit of darkness! In Jesus' Name, Amen!
